UPDATE #2 AND ATTENDEE LIST

Hi Kids!

We hope you didn’t think we’d moved to Phuket. It’s been a rather rollercoaster year on Happy Lane in Eugene and beyond but now’s the time to celebrate in typical Venerable Ones fashion. On to Cannon Beach! We all have so much to be grateful for, not the least of which is our friendships. The long stretches between these reunions seem interminable to this Kid!

The following Kids and spouses have confirmed their places at the bonfires:

If I have left anyone out or plans have changed, please email me as soon as possible. I must keep an accurate count of the required marshmallow toasting sticks (Bob Gleason, take note!).

Important Items:

v    Rudy and Shirley arrive in Portland via United on August 2^nd at 1:00 PM. Can anyone offer a ride to Cannon Beach? Email Rudy at rsxavier@charter.net. Thank you.

v    Be prepared for the debut of the Kid’s Khorus. Polishing performances will prepare us for San Diego!

v    I have been contacted by a Southeast Asia scholar and historian at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in DC who is writing a book about Jim Thompson and his circle of friends. If you were a friend of Jim’s, he would like to talk to you. Please let me know pronto if you’d like to get in touch with him.

v    We are planning to meet, as we did last time, in front of Mo’s Restaurant, next to the Tolovana, at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 2^nd. Dress code optional, hugs mandatory.
